Personal Narrative
When I first joined Journalism, I was very excited to learn about the subject and become a barkie next year, because my mom was apart of the Redwood Bark and I had known so many people who loved it. I had always been a good writer and loved hearing and telling peoples stories. I soon learned that journalism wasn't easy. It was specific and had many rules that I had to learn and apply to all my work. At times I didnt know if I was good enough to be apart of the program, and first semester I found myself stumped at finding a story to publish. Its wasn't until second semester when I had my first assignment I was really passionate about. The investigative feature assignment was exciting to me and I wanted to really apply myself and dig deep for something I cared about. The story that me and my partner decided on was the ELD program at Redwood. I had to push for this story because at first there didnt seem to be a strong angle, but the more interviews I did and the more peoples stories I got to hear, I knew that I had to follow through strong share it. After that story I became sure of the fact that journalism was something I wanted to do. I wanted tp hear people who arent usually listened to, and bring things that are forgotten or pushed aside to the surface. I have become much more comfterble this semester writing stories, doing interviews, taking photos, and taking that initiative that I struggled with the first part of the class. I know that wether I continue nay journeying
